Paul Klee talked of drawing as taking a line for a walk. For this painting, I created a multiple string of colours meandering over the entire surface of the painting, allowing the gloss paint to express itself within certain limits. There is a curious excitement about the way an inorganic medium like gloss paint can mimic organic processes so perfectly, a yin yang metaphor for life. The ovoid forms in the centre are a motif that I visit often as an expression of a beginning, the interface between life and non-life.
